RCN Wales - The Get it Right campaign 2007- 2011

The Get it Right campaign is a three year campaign which will take RCN Wales right up to the publication of its manifesto for the Assembly elections in 2011. The first year of campaigning was launched in October 2007 and RCN Wales is currently planning year two.

The Get it Right campaign sets out clearly the views of RCN Wales on the most important health issues the Welsh Assembly Government will face in this period. It has four strands:

  • Right numbers
  • Right skills
  • Right work place
  • Public health public service.

When you choose each of these topics you will see a selection of one page policy briefings. These briefings are designed to be easy introductions to the topic for decision-makers. They set out the key policy actions RCN Wales believes the Welsh Assembly Government should undertake.

The Royal College of Nursing has a long tradition in Wales of being a strong campaigner for the wellbeing of patients It is hoped that this series of readily accessible briefings on topical issues will assist in providing facts, figures and crucially policy solutions to decision-makers and influencers who are either involved in health policy formation or who have a lively interest in this most pressing of public concerns.

Are you an RCN member? If you have ideas about the topics that RCN Wales should focus on, want to add anything on the topics we have already covered or would like copies of our campaign folder then please email the Policy Advisor: lisa.turnbull@rcn.org.uk.
